Olga Fedorova is a New York-based visual journalist originally from Ukraine. Since 2021, she has been covering breaking news, civil unrest, and human-centered stories across the United States and Central America. Her work—both photo and video—regularly appears in publications such as The New York Times, The Guardian, BBC, Al Jazeera, and The Washington Post. She contributes to Getty Images, European Pressphoto Agency, and other international wire services.
Olga’s reporting often focuses on migration, social justice, and the long shadows cast by conflict. In 2024, one of her images was selected for TIME Magazine’s Top 100 Photos of the Year. Fluent in Russian, Ukrainian, and Japanese—with working Spanish—she brings a cross-cultural sensitivity to every assignment. Before becoming a photojournalist, she worked as a language interpreter while traveling across Asia and Latin America.
Olga’s work is driven by a belief in photography as a form of witness: a way to create empathy, preserve memory, and challenge power.
